County are finally officialy relegated, as mass protests are held against Brian Kennedy.

It was typical County, except they were supposed to be playing for something. There was the odd few good players, but really on the whole County could never match the physical presence that Brentford had brought and realisticly County never had a chance to try and delay Relegation for another week.

All County fans knew the situation, it was win or bust. Unfortunately for County it looked like it was going to be bust from the start.

"I thought the game typified what has gone wrong for us all season," said Turner. "We didn't get outplayed but we made mistakes and handed them two goals on a plate.

"When we got back to 1-1 I didn't think we were going to go on to win the game, but I thought we'd cetainly get a draw.

"For a long time now it's felt like we're on a runaway train and we can't stop it. But it will stop in the summer"

Turner handed a debut to Marvin Robinson, who is on loan till the end of the season, Ashley Williams returned to the team in place of Ludovic Dje. Danny Jackman took the injured Harpal Singh's place, whilst Damien Allen also started.

It was a fairly uneventful first half with only Brentford having a few real chances. Stephen Hunt crossed into the County area midway through the first half, only for Isiaiah Rankin to get the ball taken off him by the magnificent Michael Raynes.

Just before half time County got a corner, which was taken short. Damien Allen swung a cross into the box only for the big central defender Michael Raynes to head wide.

Who remember's Luke Beckett, well when news came through that he had given Oldham the lead against MK Dons people could have been thinking "We wouldn't be here if we had him. How right they might have been. It only went on that MK Dons drew with Oldham, and only a win would do for County.

Just before half time Jackman made a break down the left hand side, only for the diving Adam Le Fondre to miss the ball at the far post. County went into half time drawing 0-0, with relegation looking very much on the cards.

The second half started slowly, but when it got going you could just tell Brentford were about to score with the amount of time and space they had on the ball. When Pratley drove in a shot for Brentford who would have thought Jim Goodwin would have stopped it, with his hands! It was just outside the 6 yard box, and the referee waved play on. Jim Goodwin then got up and started to rub his wrist where he had saved the ball right infront of the referee!

Then the true killer blow of County's season, as Brentford counter attacked down the right hand side with Rankin who hit the ball in hard and low and Fitzgerald just slotted the ball home into an empty County goal.

This didn't go down well with the County faithful who immediatley started there protests against Cheshire Sport owner, and rightly so. With Chants of "Kennedy Out" aswell as other things.

But County hit back in the 80th minute, when Sam Sodje brought down Adam
Le Fondre in the box only for the striker to get back up and slot the penalty home. But news had come through that MK Dons had equalised aswell, which would mean County would get relegated anyway.

With a protest still going on at the front of the Cheadle End with the County faithful holding up a banner saying "THANKS FOR NOTHING KENNEDY".

Sam Sodje won the game though as he made up for his foul, as Brentford won a corner and County conceded yet again of a set piece. County were relegated.

The final whistle went, County were down. And the real protests started. With the fans walking along the edge of the pitch, surely something Mr Invincble Kennedy will have something to say about, with the banner. Then it kicked off and the fans wanted to walk infront of the director's box with it but the stewards and police wouldn't let them. When the ground was finally empty the protests carried on outside the ground.

Later on, at the Bobby Peel Chris Turner and Colin West turned up. Well done for them for having the guts to do this, these guts are needed at this club. And it is something that Brian Kennedy does not have, He does not have the guts to show up at a match. He has not attended a match since Chris Turner took over. And it shows he only bought us for the ground.

I'm going to steal a saying here.

THANKS FOR NOTHING KENNEDY.
