Peter Thompson is in hospital after suffering a collapsed lung

Stockport County are in shock this morning after it was revealed that summer-signing Peter Thompson has been admitted to hospital with a collapsed lung.

The Northern Ireland international striker had been suffering with a chest infection for a few weeks but seemed to be improving. Whilst taking part in light training on Thursday, Thompson complained of tightness in his chest and was diagnosed with a spontaneous collapse of his lung.

The striker has struggled to break into the County team since his dream move from Linfield FC in the summer, making 17 appearances and scoring 3 goals.

Get well soon Pete!
