Simpson disappointed by performance.
Stockport boss Paul Simpson cut a forlorn figure after seeing his side's winless start to the League Two season continue with a 3-1 defeat to Stevenage. Charlie Griffin bagged a brace and a sweet strike from Michael Bostwick put the Football League newcomers in control before George Donnelly grabbed a late consolation. "It's disappointing because we had some good chances and we've conceded some poor goals to give them the victory," said Simpson. "I don't think there was much we could have done about their second goal but I thought we played well in patches without threatening too much. "It was nice to see George (Donnelly) score at the end, but by then it was too late for us. We've not had the best of starts to the season, but we're only a few games into the new campaign and I'm sure we'll get better. "But there's still a lot of work to do and we've got to keep improving. Hopefully we'll bounce back next week and get the result we are looking for."
