Despite freezing weather, the pitch has passed an inspection
Stockport will meet MK Dons at Edgeley Park on Tuesday night as both look to secure a second consecutive win.The Dons went goal-crazy at Whaddon Road at the weekend, defeating a struggling Cheltenham side by a scoreline of 5-3. Ex-Hatter Aaron Wilbraham scored a fifteen minute hat-trick and Jemal Johnson scored a brace.
Roberto Di Matteo's team look good to win two promotions on the bounce and lie in 2nd place in League One. A win at Edgeley Park on Tuesday night would certainly emphasise their credentials.
Jim Gannon's men recorded an impressive 2-1 victory at Stadium:MK earlier in the season and will be hopeful of doing the double over their controversial opponents. MK Dons' Ali Gerba opened the scoring before a goal from Jason Taylor levelled the match. Deep into injury time, Dean Lewington put into his own net to gift Stockport the three points.
It will come as a relief that Stockport's injury concerns seem to be easing. Although Jim Gannon will be without both Peter Thompson and Carl Baker who remain ruled-out with long term injuries, but it is likely that James Tunnicliffe will return to the squad. New loan-signing Chris O'Grady is expected to start the match after securing his move from Oldham Athletic on deadline day.
