County chairman Martin Reid has confirmed that there has been no approaches for the manager Jim Gannon

Rumours have been rife in recent weeks that the boss could be a target for managerless Championship duo Charlton Athletic and Blackpool, but while admitting the club wouldn't prevent the manager from leaving, Reid has reiterated that no offers had been forthcoming:

"Jim remains County manager. He is fully committed and has a comprehensive plan to remain competitive in League One and help take the club forward in these challenging financial times" though he did say that his impressive performances, alongside Peter Ward, since taking over in 2005 would inevitably attract admiring glances from higher league clubs:

"Jim deserves the compliment of being associated with available jobs and as a club Stockport County would support him wholeheartedly in securing a move which his achievements merit".
