Leicester stopper set to resolve crisis between the sticks
LEICESTER City goalkeeper Conrad Logan has come to Stockport's rescue by re-joining the club on loan just when it was feared boss Jim Gannon would have to field an outfield player between the sticks.
The Foxes' shot-stopper agreed an emergency seven-day loan on Friday and will now line-up at Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
Gannon was hoping that Wales would release Owain fon Williams to play at the Memorial Stadium but, although the Welsh FA agreed to the request, fon Williams picked up an injury during training on Friday which scuppered the plan.
With second choice 'keeper Lloyd Rigby also injured, that left Hatters' officials racing against the clock to bring in cover.
A phone call to Leicester proved fruitful though, and Logan, currently out of favour at the Walkers Stadium, had no hesitation in returning to Edgeley Park.
The Irishman enjoyed a successful loan period with County last season, making 41 appearances, his last being at Wembley when the Hatters secured promotion to League One.
