Northern Ireland international looks set to leave Edgeley Park in the summer as he is set to move back to the Scottish Premier League.

Griffin
Danny Griffin has today announced he may be set to move back to the Scottish Premier League in a move to Aberdeen. Speaking to the BBC about rumours of the move he said:

"Aberdeen have done really well this season and it is something I have to seriously consider."

"They are a big club and it would be a big chance for me, but we will have to see what happens.

"This season has been a real disappointment for me at Stockport and, to compound things, it looks like we will get relegated."

Griffin has been at County for just over a year now when former County boss Sammy McIlroy signed him from Dundee United back in January 2004. He was a first team regular for the relegation battle, but suffered a horrific injury against Blackpool which left him out for 6 months.

With County back at the bottom in September Sammy McIlroy rushed back an unfit Danny Griffin to try and aid his defence, however that only made things worse. Danny was then called up to the Northern Ireland squad for the away fixture against Azerbaijan and this did his injury no good.

He went on to make 21 more appearances this season and the last time he featured in the team was in the 3-1 defeat against Hull back in January 2005.
