Jim Gannon signs for Motherwell, but will never forget his time at County

It was always on the cards that Jim Gannon was to sign for another club. Nevertheless, it has still sunk the hearts of many Hatters fans, to confirm the fact that Jimbo will not be taking charge at Edgeley Park next year.

Although he was upset about the way he was treated at County when the administrators made him redundant, he is very pleased to have signed for Motherwell.

He commented, "I'm delighted to be here as new manager. It's a fantastic challenge and a fantastic opportunity and I look forward to managing in the SPL."

Some speculation suggested that Peter Ward and Alan Lord (former U21 manager, who resigned from the club) could take over as manager and assistant manager respectively, with Lord maybe taking the number 1 role. However, Peter Ward has gone with Jim as his number 2, and it is inevitable that Lord will have some role at Motherwell, who finished 7th in the Scottish Premier League last year.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish Jimbo and Wardy the very best and luck in the SPL and Europa League alike. They will kick off their new careers no earlier than Thursday, where they will face Welsh outfit Llanelli.
