Administrators show Stockport boss the door, along with his assistant and other coaching and admin staff

MANAGER Jim Gannon has been sensationally made redundant by administration-hit Stockport County.
After three-and-a-half successful years at Edgeley Park, Gannon has been shown the door by administrators Leonard Curtis as the drastic cost-cutting at the club goes on.
Gannon’s assistant boss Peter Ward has also been made redundant.
A statement from the administrators said: “The administrators at Leonard Curtis are continuing ongoing discussions with a number of credible interested parties, and remain confident of progressing matters in the short term.
“It is regrettable however, that due to funding constraints during the administration period, it has been necessary to make a number of redundancies. Following the conclusion of the playing season, the number of coaching staff has been reduced and regrettably cuts include the manager, Jim Gannon.
“It is hoped that these cost reductions will enable us to preserve the club in the short term and secure a buyer in the near future.”
Gannon’s sudden departure will shock and anger all County fans, but he is sure to be a target for other clubs in the summer now after previously being linked with managerial positions at the likes of Blackpool, Norwich City and Oldham Athletic.
