Ablett rues penalty miss

Stockport manager Gary Ablett was left to rue George Donnelly's penalty miss as his side crashed to a 3-1 home defeat against MK Dons. County took an early lead through Donnelly on his first Football League start but he then had a penalty brilliantly saved by Willy Gueret. The Dons equalised through Jermaine Easter's 17th goal of the season, before Aaron Wilbraham and Andros Townsend pounced to secure a well-deserved win after the break. Ablett said: "That was an important penalty miss I guess. However, even if we had had gone 2-0 up, you never say never with us. "A second goal would have given us confidence and a big lift, but the penalty save galvanised them. We conceded a disappointing equaliser, and although we started the second half brightly, we allowed them to stretch us far too much. "They had that little bit more quality and they defended better than us. I didn't think they were any better than us, but we seem to be saying that every week. That's just the way things are going for us at the moment."
