County remain adrift at the bottom of the League One table but showed their battling qualities by hauling themselves back from 2-0 down against high-flying Colchester to earn a deserved draw.

David Prutton and Anthony Wordsworth fired the Us into a two-goal lead inside 20 minutes, but a goal in each half from on-loan striker Jabo Ibehre earned Stockport a point.

Ablett said: "I've told the players in the dressing room that they should be pleased with what was a fantastic response in the second half. We showed some terrific character.

"It was a very poor first half from us, but still saying that I thought we maybe ought to have been level at the break.

"There was much more enthusiasm, energy and aggression in the second half, and Jabo and George Donnelly caused their defenders real problems. We've tried to stay positive of late, and a point's a point, but it will still be difficult to get ourselves out of this situation."
