Crisis-torn County, who remain in administration, ended their four-month wait for a league victory after beating Exeter 1-0 at St James Park last weekend.
They remain rock-bottom of the table going into Saturday's home clash with Wycombe and Ablett is urging his men to repeat the display that earned them victory against the Grecians.
He said: "We need to carry this form into our remaining games and give ourselves a fighting chance.
"We have set ourselves a points target and we'll keep going until there aren't enough points to play for."
