County have been in administration since April 30, 2009 and have yet to find a buyer, despite interest from a consortium led by former Manchester City striker Jim Melrose.

Administrators Leonard Curtis revealed they have received "a number of other enquiries" about the club, but Ablett says he remains in the dark.

"I haven't heard anything positive about the takeover," he told the Stockport Express.

"I hope it does happen, I really hope it does because I just think at this moment in time we're lacking a little bit of direction off the field. We're lurching from day to day.

"We're trying to do our best on the pitch in terms of giving everyone a lift and I'm hoping the whispers we're hearing are all true and something positive is going to happen. It needs to happen for this club to go forward."
