The other side of the story in the build up to the match against Hereford United in the 2nd Round of the FA Cup

Stockport fan Graham Collier speaks out ahead of the match against Conference team Hereford United:

--

SCFC Mad: Stockport haven't been doing so well in the league recently despite their 2-0 win over high-flying Swansea in the Cup, do you think we can put our 2-1 loss at Mansfield behind us in order to defeat Hereford United?
Hereford take on Barnet - Both players miss the ball

GC: I think it really depends on which team turns up. It will be vitally
important for us to put them under the kosh from the off otherwise their
confidence will grow and they are more likely to take us apart. I know that
we "can" do it as we have shown previously, but its just a question of
whether we will. They did just beat Mansfield in the LDV Vans Trophy so we shall have to see.

I'd hope for a draw personally as it would bring in extra revenue for us,
followed by a home mauling of them!

SCFC Mad: Despite differing league statuses, do you believe that the match could go Hereford's way?

GC: Most definitely. Even though they aren't as free scoring as they used to be, I'm sure they will have confidence that they can take the win.

If we play like we did first half at Mansfield then I think it's highly
likely it will go their way.

SCFC Mad: Which players should Hereford be wary of?

GC: I think, if the service is right, then Jermaine Easter could terrorise their
defence. Otherwise I'd like to see us play it down the flanks to see Matty
Hamshaw's ability shine through and a possible return to form of Harpal
Singh, who has been largely disappointing this season I feel.

SCFC Mad: What is your prediction for the match?

GC: I predict a 2-2 draw with my heart, but with my head a 2-1 win for them.

SCFC Mad: If Stockport progress to the 3rd Round, who would be your dream draw? Why?

GC: I'd have to say Fulham. My mum use to go watch them when she was a
young'un, their supporters have been very supportive to the SCFC Trust, and
they're not one of the elite teams in the Premiership so you can always pray
for the upset.

Home tie of course!
